COGHLIN CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INC ("Company," "we," "our," or "us") provides these Terms and Conditions to govern your access to our website and electrical contracting services. By approving an electrical installation plan, signing a service contract, or using our client portals, you ("Client," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not utilize our electrical services. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Company.
We provide professional general electrical contracting services, including but not limited to commercial wiring, panel upgrades, emergency electrical repair, lighting design, and EV charging station installations. All electrical projects are executed in accordance with approved design specifications and the Massachusetts Electrical Code. We reserve the right to halt site work if hazardous environmental conditions or unpermitted structural issues are discovered.
All initial electrical estimates and material quotes provided by our firm are valid for 30 days. Initial quotes are based on preliminary site evaluations. Final project costs may vary due to fluctuations in copper/wire availability, unforeseen code compliance upgrades, or hidden conditions behind walls and ceilings. Any major deviations from the original electrical plan must be approved through a formal, written modification before additional work proceeds.
Clients are strictly responsible for funding their electrical project according to the payment schedule outlined in their specific contract (e.g., initial material deposit, progress payments, and final inspection completion). Failure to make timely payments may result in the suspension of ongoing electrical work. The Company reserves the right to employ legal collection methods for any unpaid labor, fixtures, or wiring materials provided to the property.
The Client agrees to provide our electricians with safe, unobstructed access to the property and the main electrical panel during scheduled work hours. The Client is responsible for securing fragile items and clearing workspaces around outlets, fixtures, and junction boxes prior to our arrival. The Company is not liable for damage to unmarked or improperly installed pre-existing wiring discovered during our operations.
While we strive to adhere to the estimated electrical installation and repair timeline, all project completion dates are approximate. The Company shall not be held liable for delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather conditions, municipal inspection backlogs, utility company shut-off delays, or electrical supply chain shortages.
We utilize UL-listed, code-compliant electrical components for all installations. The Company provides a limited one-year warranty on our workmanship and newly installed components, provided the failure is due to an installation defect. This warranty does not cover pre-existing electrical systems, nor does it cover damages caused by power surges from the utility grid, extreme weather, misuse, or unauthorized modifications by third parties.
All electrical schematics, lighting design blueprints, CAD drawings, and custom project layouts created or provided by COGHLIN CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INC remain the exclusive intellectual property of the Company. These materials are provided solely for the execution of your specific project and may not be reproduced, distributed, or utilized by third-party contractors without our express written permission.
The Company maintains comprehensive general liability insurance for all property operations. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any property damage is limited to the direct costs associated with correcting our specific scope of work. We are explicitly not responsible for pre-existing electrical code violations, data loss from power interruptions during our service, or the failure of sensitive electronic equipment lacking proper surge protection.

The Client shall not directly instruct, redirect, or negotiate with our on-site electricians or apprentices regarding changes in scope.
These Terms and Conditions and all electrical contracts shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal disputes arising from our electrical contracting services must be resolved through good faith negotiation. If litigation becomes necessary, both parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state courts located in Worcester County, Massachusetts.
You agree to fully indemnify and hold harmless COGHLIN CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INC, its officers, master electricians, and staff from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your failure to disclose property hazards, unpermitted prior electrical work, or failure to follow prescribed safety instructions. If any provision of these Terms is found by a court to be unenforceable, that specific provision shall be limited to the minimum extent necessary so that the remainder of these Terms shall remain in full legal effect.
